The RP Management System has been designed to integrate with the PROMAS property management accounting software program to automate data transfer. However, use of the PROMAS accounting software is optional - most of its functions will work independently of PROMAS.
Without PROMAS:
• | Client profile data will be entered into HomeRentals.net system manually |
• | Financial statements will be uploaded to individual owners and tenants, rather than batch uploaded |
• | Can only accept online payments from owners and applicants, cannot accept online rent payments from tenants |
• | Able to accept online work requests and email workorders to vendors, but some system connections may not correlate |
• | Able to accept online applications from prospective tenants (Manager Platinum package required) |
With PROMAS:
HomeRentals.net and PROMAS have developed an integration that allows specific data to flow seamlessly from one program to the other (must use PROMAS version 6.9.10 or higher - Figure 1a and 1b).
• | Client profile data is transferred electronically from PROMAS |
• | Financial statement data is transferred electronically from PROMAS |
• | Able to accept online payments from owners, applicants and tenants |
• | Able to export rent payments to update PROMAS |
• | Able to accept online work requests and email workorders to vendors, all system connections will correlate |
• | Able to accept online applications from prospective tenants (Manager Platinum package required) |
• | Able to back up PROMAS data to the Internet (Beta Feature - backups are not yet guaranteed) |

The PROMAS Accounting software is not included in the RP Management System. For more detailed information about PROMAS features and pricing, please visit http://PROMAS.com.
The HomeRentals.net team can help users understand the PROMAS features that integrate with the RP Management System, but cannot provide instructions with regard to the use of the PROMAS software. Please refer to the PROMAS support options to request help with using the PROMAS software.
Assigning PROMAS Profile IDs
It is critically important to properly assign PROMAS IDs to Owner, Tenant, Vendor, and Unit profiles, and to avoid reusing IDs that have previously been assigned to a different Owner, Tenant, Vendor, or Unit. Reusing PROMAS IDs will create future issues with the HomeRentals.net/PROMAS integration. Avoid using spaces and special characters as differentiators for similar IDs because the HomeRentals.net system removes spaces and special characters (_, ., #) from profile IDs when the data is transferred to the Internet. To ensure uniqueness, we recommend the following system for assigning PROMAS IDs:
1. | Client (Owner, Tenant, Vendor) IDs: 5+3+serial (5 characters from the last name, 3 from the first name, and an incremented serial number to ensure uniqueness.
|
2. | Unit IDs: 5+3+2 (5 characters from the street name, 3 from the address number, 2 from the unit number. |
PROMAS Data Transfer
Profile data (Owner, Tenant, Vendor, and Unit) and statement data is transferred electronically from PROMAS to the HomeRentals.net Control Panel:
1. | Profile Data: Profile data is entered, maintained, and updated through the PROMAS software program. The RP Management System is able to process data from the following profile types: |
2. | Statement Data: Owner and tenant financial statements are generated through PROMAS. All records of financial activity are entered and edited through the PROMAS software. The RP Management System/PROMAS integration enables the user to publish periodic statements from PROMAS to a password protected Internet portal instead of, or in addition to, mailing printed statements. |
